This resource is invaluable for SEND, EYFS and KS1 teachers, providing a variety of fresh and encouraging comments across a wide range of topics and subjects. The resource is useful in enabling educators to offer specific and meaningful praise that goes beyond the commonplace ‘good’ or ‘very good’, thereby fostering a more positive and engaging learning environment for young learners. Table 1 is based on EYFS topics: Alphabet, reading, writing, number, shape, Ourselves and Toys. Table 2 is based on KS1 subjects: Literacy, Maths, Science, Topic, ICT, RE, PE and PSHE. Each subject area has 6 statements that teachers can use in their marking, assessment or verbal feedback. Statements can be adapted for report writing. Boardmaker licenced.
Make a Class or School Puzzle Tree

Make a Class or School Puzzle Tree

This is a creative and flexible activity that has a multitude of uses. The idea is to make a tree out of puzzle pieces. On a large scale this looks really effective. Display in class or in the Hall for assemblies. There are a set of instructions for a class or group to use to make their own tree or for an individual to make a puzzle tree. There are then, 8 ideas or ways of using the tree. My favourite is the ‘Achievement Tree’ where the tree starts off with no pieces and then as a child achieves a goal or learns a new skill, then they add a piece of puzzle to the tree. The tree is regularly reviewed and celebrated. This idea supports behaviour manaagement. Other activity ideas include a Story tree, a Number tree, and a 4 Seasons tree. All you need is a box of old puzzle pieces, paint, paper and glue.
